Bloggers Boycott of Subway Restaurants

To: Subway NZ and Subway George Street Dunedin

We call upon Subway New Zealand and Subway George Street Dunedin to show compassion and common sense in the case of Jackie Lang, and for them to formally request the Police not to prosecute her for the alleged misappropriation of a $2 soda which she shared with a friend, and to resolve her employment status in a manner satisfactory to both Subway and Ms Lang.

We are calling upon New Zealand to boycott all Subway franchises.

This follows the decision of management of Subway George Street, Dunedin to fire Jackie Lang without following due process over a matter of a $4 soft drink, and charge Ms Lang with theft.

We believe that the management in this situation have overreacted big time, and only through boycotts of local stores are we able to get Subway to take notice and pressure George Street store manager to reverse the decision and give the worker her job back.

The following bloggers (and blog visitors) pledge not to visit any Subway stores until the charges against Ms Lang are dropped, and she is given her job back:
